The VISION
It is 1954 in Hollywood, a city built on dreams and shadows. A small group are working on a project that will change their lives: for better or for worse. Burdened by their own consuming darkness, they will breathe life into a film that could be their redemption - or their ruin. This isn’t just another low budget movie; it’s their last whisper of hope in a city that devours dreams whole. Can this improbable found family hold firm long enough to finally save them from the shadows of obscurity?
B Movie explores this Hollywood as a microcosm of the world today: ripe with sexism, homophobia, racism, drugs, power, the male gaze, politics and censorship. It tells the story of how people in power will try to control art, and how misfits and outcasts can come together to make something beautiful.
THE MOVIE MUST BE MADE
In B Movie, you'll step into the shoes of an actor and/or filmmaker, contributing to the creation of a movie - or at least key parts of it. Throughout the larp, modern cameras will be integrated into props designed to look authentically old. Different teams will work together, following a schedule to rehearse and shoot specific scenes, while writers will be on hand to constantly develop and refine the script and scenographers, costumers and makeup artists make sure the talent looks as good on camera as behind the scenes.
Larp mechanics will help to progress the production, but you will have to make compromises on quality to make sure the movie is made on time!
Filmmaking is not about the tiny details. It’s about the big picture.

Dream it - film it - live it
This isn't just a story about moviemakers. Each time the cameras roll, you inhabit your B world character. You become the hero - or the villain - that the writers of this Hollywood 1950s B movie have imagined. You might save the world, find love across the diner, or discover what lies beyond the stars. What is more, even when you are not shooting a scene you can choose to play out the story of your B World character and to explore their life.
There is no need to be a professional actor to play this larp. You play both worlds and both characters as if they were real because - as long as the dream is alive, they might as well be.

B movie will run in Iłki, Poland. We will be living, playing and filming inside and around a trailer park, woodland, and buildings on the site. Accommodation and food is included. Each player will get a spot in a bed in a cabin or trailer.
